What is the Merchant Surcharge Program?

Merchant Surcharge Program or MSP is a feature designed to help you reduce payment processing costs by passing on credit card fees to customers responsibly and transparently. It is available for our customers using SimplePay + CardConnect integrated processing.

How does it work?

MSP needs to be enabled on your credit card processor’s side (SimplePay + CardConnect) and we’ll enable it on ours. There’s some paperwork to fill out as well. Once all the ducks are in a row you’ll be able to charge your customers a credit card processing fee while being automatically protected from charging the fee when it’s illegal.

SimpleACH

  • Custom Reports: We added the ability to view whether a SimpleACH funding source has been created for a consignor. This completes the trifecta of criteria needed for your consignors to be fully configured to receive ACH payouts and three steps are available as fields + filters in the custom consignor report.

  • Payouts: In the unlikely event an ACH payout is canceled you now have the ability to void the payout so you can easily try again.

Discounts

  • 0 Quantity Items: When an item reaches 0 quantity it drops out of the routine discount updates to prioritize in-stock inventory. Previously, this could leave expired discounts on out of stock items. Now, we update the discount to 0% to ensure the item doesn’t sell for less than intended.

We were making improvements for our customers who are using SimpleACH, but on April 22, 2025 we made a mistake that impacted less than half of a percent of total consignor accounts. An email was incorrectly sent to a very small number of consignors with instructions for setting up their consignor account to receive ACH payouts. This email was sent to some consignors at companies that are not using the SimpleACH feature. These emails were sent starting early Tuesday morning and were cut off by 12:35pm central the same day after we became aware of the issue.

Adjust Consignor Account Update:
Manager Overrides let stores choose which actions require a manager (or higher) to complete. We've updated the Adjust Consignor Account override to give you more fine-tuned control.

This override has now been split into three separate overrides:

  • Adjust Consignor Account

  • Delete Consignor Entries

  • Payins

If you previously had the original override enabled, all three of the new overrides have been automatically enabled on your account.

We’re excited to announce the full release of AI Inventory Entry, available on the Professional plan. This powerful feature streamlines the process of entering inventory by suggesting pricing and descriptive information for your items which saves you time and helps you sell faster.

What’s included?

  • 500 uses per month on the Professional plan

  • Photo options: Select from your gallery/camera roll or take up to 2 photos per item

  • Flexible settings: Choose whether or not photos are saved to the item for use with Shopify

How it works

  1. Start an inventory batch
    Scan the QR code at the bottom of a consignment or store owned inventory batch to get started.

  2. Add photos
    Snap a picture (or two) or upload directly from your device’s gallery.

  3. Submit for research
    We’ll analyze your photos and generate suggested descriptions, pricing, and other key details.

  4. Review & submit
    Make any edits you'd like, then submit the item directly into your inventory batch.

To stay protected, update your passwords regularly across all accounts, and never share them with anyone. Each user should have their own login, whether they’re a cashier, manager, or admin.

  • ACH Discoverability: Our research has shown that consignors and vendors say direct deposit or ACH payouts is the top way to improve their store experience. We’ve added a tab in Consignor Access that directs them to reach out to the store for more information. This makes payouts easier and more convenient, similar to platforms like eBay, Poshmark, and RealReal.

  • Custom Reports: To make searching for fields + filters related to SimpleACH easier to find we’ve added SimpleACH as a prefix.

  • Extra Information: We used a variety of terms for the same field (Extra Info, Description, Extra Information) so we trimmed it down to just Extra Information for clarity.

QuickBooks Online Integration

  • Departments: Multi-Location support via Departments in QBO allows choosing a different department per location in SimpleConsign.

  • ACH Sync: SimpleACH payouts are now available to sync in the QBO integration and can be configured in your QBO settings in the Back Office.

ACH Discoverability

  • Payouts: We’ve updated the payout screen for all U.S. based companies to include SimpleACH as a payout option with prompts to enable or upgrade depending on your current subscription level. This better surfaces a feature consignors and vendors frequently request!

Reporting

  • Custom Inventory Report: Added Min. Quantity, Max Quantity, and On Hand Qty comparison filters to aid in monitoring store owned inventory for restocks.

  • Consignor Payout Totals: Updated to include payouts for deleted consignors.
